Humminbird 788ci HD DI

Details

The Humminbird 788 Ci is a High definition combo unit offering both GPS navigation and sonar imaging. It has a 5” 640x640 full color display, Quick Disconnect mounting system, and 4,000 watts of power. Of course it also has all of the standard exclusive technologies from Humminbird including the Switchfire Sonar which allows users to customize the complexity of their underwater views on the fly. Dual Beam Plus provides two sonar beam signals that are emitted simultaneously to give both extreme detail as well as wide coverage area.

When it comes to software and data storage, the 788 Ci is well equipped. The unit has not one but two SD card slots that can add a potentially voluminous amount solid state storage for maps and way-points. It is pre-loaded with the ContourXD map software. The loaded maps include data on over 3,000 U.S. Lakes as well as major roads and interstates. There is an optional charting software that can be installed that provides 3d charts and over 15,000 panoramic aerial photos of marinas and harbors across the country.

Beginning with the 700 series models, Humminbird has outfitted their fishfinders with Ethernet capability which opens a whole new realm of possibility and function. The 788 Ci can be connected to other supported models so as to share views, transducers, GPS maps, and way-points. The 700 series models including the 788ci require the use of a separate Interlink Network Connection unit in order to achieve this networking functionality. In this way, a wide array of information and navigational data can be viewed by multiple users at once from virtually anywhere on a single boat or multiple boats. With the addition of other peripheral devices such as the Cannonlink or the Wireless Sonarlink, Ethernet technology can be used to control down-riggers or wirelessly connect to sonar sensors.
