Garmin Echo 300c

Details

If you're looking for value when it comes to fish finding units, then you really don't have to look any further than the brand new Echo 300c from Garmin. For its price point, the 300c offers a lot of bang for the buck. To start with, this model boasts a 3.5” full 256 color screen with a 240x320 resolution. It can be read easily whether in dim light or out in direct sunlight. Garmin claims that this is the only model with a display of this quality currently on the market at its price range. Additionally, its transducer is capable of emitting two separate beams that can cover up to 120 degrees of area. With 300 watts of power, the unit can provide images from objects of up to 1500 feet from the surface in freshwater and 600 feet in salt water.

Garmin uses various software algorithms to adjust and refine these sonar images in such a way as to provide suitable and extremely useful views for the angler. Garmin's new and improved HD-ID tracking is an example of this. With it, the user is able to see fish return, structures, and bottom contours with extreme detail and precision. Smooth Scaling is another enhancement that helps maintain sonar history in plain view for the user even when depth ranges are changed.

In addition to its affordability and pro level features, Garmin has invested in the overall design of the 300c as well. The unit can be setup and installed very easily and expeditiously. The quick release mount for the monitor and the versatile transom mount for the transducer make it an effortless task to set up and start fishing in grand style.
